Certainly! We provide stable kayaks that are ideal for beginners. You can even opt for a tandem kayak, which offers added stability. Our team will tailor the kayak to your needs and assist you in getting in and out of it. Additionally, OKT offers beginner kayak courses lasting 3 hours. Upon completion, you’ll receive a wet card. Our base includes a spacious container where you can securely store your valuables, bags, backpacks, and, if necessary, a suitcase.
If you’re coming from Oslo, you have several options:
- Take the train to Skøyen.
- Catch buses 20, 81, or 42 to Skøyen.
- From there, head towards the sea. The entrance to Marina Sjølyst is located in the large roundabout near the E18 ramp. Upon reaching the entrance, veer left, cross a small bridge, pass the boat shop, and continue right towards the water. You’ll spot a large white tent, behind which lies our base and the tour starting point.
Yes, there are parking facilities at the marina entrance and before reaching the bridge on the left side.
Dress comfortably in workout attire and consider bringing spare clothes for after the activity. Since kayaking involves water, it’s advisable to bring a jacket if it’s windy or raining.
Yes, participants should be capable of swimming at least 200 meters.
Absolutely, wearing a life jacket is a requirement.
Yes, we provide a tent and a container where you can change.
While we offer waterproof phone cases during the tour, our primary focus is on paddling rather than photography.
Yes, it’s possible, with a minimum age requirement of 6 years old. We recommend booking a 2-hour tour when accompanied by younger children.
Our kayaks are stable, and capsizing is rare. However, in the event of an accidental capsizing at sea, our instructors are trained to promptly rescue you.

Generally, tours proceed regardless of rain. We’re equipped to handle wind challenges, and rain can be an intriguing experience on the fjord. In extreme cases such as severe thunderstorms or dense fog, the tour may be canceled for the safety of our guests. In such instances, we’ll endeavor to reschedule or provide a full refund.
Yes, just before the boat shop, there’s a red toilet building with a code.
